Birchwood Community Gardens

Started in 1997 with 24 raised bed plots, the Birchwood Community Gardens give SLP families and individuals an opportunity to grow fresh produce for themselves and others.

The garden also features six additional plots for perennial flowers, climbing roses on pathway arches and an accompanying fire pit for neighborhood gatherings.

Two of the garden plots are used to grow produce for the St. Louis Park Emergency Program (STEP) and is tended to by the Garden Coordinator.

Three of the gardens are home for the Kids' Crops Youth Gardening Program.  This summer the group of 10 kids are growing corn, beans, peas, tomatoes, peppers, squash, onions, wildflowers and more!  The kids are having fun learning about nature and food production, while making new friends.

Joyce Krogh is the organizer for the Birchwood Community Garden, and Danielle Fehring is the contact for the Kids' Crops Youth Gardening Program.  Both can be reached through the church office at office@reformationslp.org or at 952-929-0439.
